Categories and values, two columns. When they sum to a meaningful whole, the donut appears next to the pie in the recommendations. Same native, editable chart object in PowerPoint and WPS — the hole in the middle is just design headroom for your key figure. Animated GIF export included. Free, no sign-up.
When a donut wins
- You have a headline number. Total budget, dominant share, completion rate — the center turns a chart into a KPI card.
- The deck is a dashboard. Rings tile gracefully; four donuts in a row read as a control panel, four pies read as a bakery.
- Same job as a pie, lighter touch. The hollow middle removes visual weight — the shares still land, the slide breathes.

Field notes on donuts
- Put the point in the center. "45% goes to engineering" — ring shows it, center says it, done.
- Four segments, five at the edge. Past that, reach for bars.
- One bright segment, the rest quiet. The ring's job is to frame the share you are arguing about.
- Start at twelve, run clockwise, descending. Same discipline as the pie; the eye has habits, respect them.
